I am still carrying the energy from Emerald Summit kicking off New York Climate Week on September 19 (Friday). 

The exchange of ideas, the quality of the conversations, and the forward-looking perspectives along with a huge dose of optimism shared continue to resonate with me.

Many of you have said the toughest part of building a climate-first company is knowing how to measure and track impact. It’s a real challenge, and you’re not alone. Here are some practical ways to get started:

• Use clear frameworks: The GHG Protocol is the go-to for measuring emissions (Scopes 1, 2, and 3). It gives you a solid, trusted baseline.

• Lean on smart tools: Platforms like Climatiq, Greenly, and Watershed help automate data collection and make reporting far less painful.

• Turn numbers into action: Don’t stop at measurement. Look for insights on where you can cut emissions and make real progress.

• Show your impact: For investors, frameworks like the GenZero–BCG Climate Impact Framework help clarify whether your impact is direct, indirect, or transformational.

Measuring climate impact isn’t simple, but it’s becoming easier and more valuable. Start with a clear framework, pick tools that fit your business, and focus on progress you can act on.

My SXSW 2025 Talk – Transforming business, communities, and the planet!

In my recent talk on corporate sustainability during the 2025 edition of SXSW, I shared how businesses can do well by doing good.

I talked about why ESG matters and how focusing on women’s financial inclusion and ethical practices can create real impact for people and the planet. I shared practical ideas that have helped me rethink risk, culture, and growth. It was an inspiring conversation, and I hope it sparks action.
